Company History
On 1 March 1962, Heinz Baumgartner set up in business, establishing himself as a young professional. For this purpose, he converted the former barn at his parents' home in the heart of the village of Tegerfelden into a small workshop. As a one-man operation, all he needed to get started was a small lathe and an area of around 50 m2 in which to work. During the day he repaired whatever happened to break down in the village - from agricultural machinery to sanitary installations. At night, he devoted himself to orders from industry, with the active support of his wife Marlies who was always there by his side, quietly playing a role in the background.
In those early days the focus was on repairs and agricultural machinery; today, it is on complex assemblies for the medical sector. But manufacturing techniques and technologies have also changed considerably since the company was first set up, with manual labour increasingly being pushed aside by mechanisation. Cutting-edge CNC machines can produce sophisticated individual items as well as whole series.
For years now, Heinz Baumgartner AG has been manufacturing entire complex assemblies for the treatment of cancer tumours. In the last two decades, progress in this area has been instrumental in facilitating the company's great leap forward.
While there were just six employees and one apprentice back in 1972, there are now around 50 members of staff and 8 trainees. In is 50-year history, the firm has trained more than 60 apprentices, some of whom remain loyal to the company to this day and continue to support its operations.
Since the company was founded by Heinz Baumgartner there have been some lows and many highs. The lows we sailed around with much dedication and enthusiasm. We are also proud of our 55th anniversary in 2017 and the outstanding apprenticeship grades of our students.
Some of the highs is that the third generation Baumgartner is already involved, that we have already been able to expand the new building and in 2018 we received an award from our main customer for many years of extraordinary cooperation.
